Course Goals

• To prepare children for primary school with foundational knowledge in language and math.
• To develop creativity, physical coordination, and rhythm.
• To teach appropriate school behavior and social interaction skills.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this course, children will be able to:

• Recognize and write the English alphabet (A-Z) with proper letter formation.
• Recognize and write the Bengali alphabet (অ-ঔ) and practice basic phonetics.
• Understand basic math concepts such as counting, number recognition (1-20), and simple addition and subtraction.
• Engage in simple art activities, drawing shapes, objects, and using colors creatively.
• Participate in rhythmic activities like clapping, singing, and simple dance to promote physical coordination and listening skills.
• Demonstrate appropriate school behavior, such as taking turns, listening to instructions, and following rules.
• Develop social skills like greeting others, sharing, and expressing emotions.

Teaching Approach

• Interactive Learning: Hands-on activities, songs, and games to engage children in learning.
• Play-based Learning: Activities like drawing, rhythm exercises, and role-playing to make learning fun and effective.
• Routine and Structure: Introducing consistent routines (circle time, snack time, learning time) to help children adapt to school-like settings.

Materials Needed

• Art Supplies: Crayons, markers, colored pencils, paper, glue, safety scissors.
• Math Tools: Counting beads, flashcards, number charts.
• Rhythm Instruments: Simple percussion instruments (e.g., tambourines, drums, maracas), or alternative homemade instruments (e.g., pots and wooden spoons).
• Books and Flashcards: Alphabet and number books, flashcards for letters, numbers, and simple words.
• Behavior Tools: Reward charts, stickers, visual behavior cues.

Notes for Parents

• Daily Routine: We encourage parents to establish a consistent daily routine at home that aligns with school-like activities (e.g., time for reading, basic chores, and playtime).
• Reinforcing Learning: While the learning environment is fun and interactive, practicing the alphabet, numbers, and basic shapes at home will reinforce what children learn at school.
• Positive Reinforcement: Praise and encouragement go a long way! If children are struggling with certain concepts, let them know that mistakes are part of learning, and encourage them to try again.
• Behavior at School: Encourage your child to practice basic manners, like saying “please” and “thank you,” and emphasize the importance of sharing and taking turns with classmates.
