Junior Arabic Education

Course Goals

• To introduce young learners to the basics of the Arabic language.
• To develop proper Quran reading skills with fluency.
• To help children learn and memorize essential Surahs and Duas.
• To foster an understanding of key Islamic teachings through Hadiths.
• To build a sense of confidence in reading Arabic and understanding its significance in the Islamic faith.

Learning Objectives:

• By the end of this course, students will:
• Be able to recognize and read basic Arabic letters and words with proper pronunciation.
• Memorize and recite essential Surahs such as Surah Al-Fatiha, Surah Al-Ikhlas, and Surah Al-Falaq.
• Demonstrate proper Quranic reading with fluency, including correct pronunciation (Tajweed).
• Understand and memorize simple Duas for daily life.
• Comprehend and recall a selection of Hadiths appropriate for their age.
• Gain an appreciation for the importance of the Arabic language in Islam.

Teaching Approach:

This course employs a child-centered, interactive teaching approach to ensure engagement and understanding. Key elements include:

• Storytelling: Introducing Quranic stories and Hadiths through stories to make learning enjoyable and memorable.
• Repetition and Practice: Encouraging regular practice and repetition of Surahs, Duas, and Quranic reading to improve fluency and retention.
• Visual Aids: Using flashcards, charts, and colorful illustrations to support letter recognition and understanding of key concepts.
• Games & Activities: Interactive games and activities that promote learning in a playful manner, such as memory games, matching exercises, and role-playing.
• Positive Reinforcement: Providing praise and rewards for progress to motivate children and build their confidence.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the course, students will:

• Be able to read simple Arabic words and sentences.
• Recite at least 5-10 essential Surahs by heart.
• Have a basic understanding of Tajweed rules for Quranic reading.
• Memorize key Duas for everyday use.
• Show an understanding of basic Hadiths and their application in daily life.
• Develop a deeper connection with their faith through the Arabic language and Islamic teachings.

Notes for Parents

• Encourage Daily Practice: Help your child revise what they’ve learned each day, especially the Surahs and Duas.
• Engage with the Learning Material: Sit with your child during sessions when possible and show enthusiasm for what they are learning.
• Create a Positive Learning Environment: Make sure the learning space is quiet and free from distractions.
• Praise Progress: Celebrate small milestones with your child, whether it’s reciting a Surah correctly or mastering a new Arabic letter.
• Be Patient and Supportive: Learning a new language and religious content takes time, so provide consistent encouragement and support.
